Three events. Three different tests. One stronger runner.
Vigo was just the beginning.
Whether you stood on the start line at Vigo or followed the action online, there's still time to become part of the Kent Backyard Ultra Series II.
Three events remain. Dover, Sholden and Bedgebury.

A single Backyard Ultra tests the runner you are today.
The Kent Backyard Ultra Series II gives you the opportunity to discover the runner you could become.
Each event presents a different challenge, testing your physical strength, mental resilience and ability to adapt.
Each one exposes something different. Each one gives you lessons to take back into training before the next.
The runner who starts at Dover should not be the same runner who arrives at Bedgebury.
Booking the Series Pass will not make you a better runner on its own. You still have to do the work.
What it gives you is structure, three fixed targets, a community of like-minded runners and a reason to keep improving.
Saturday, January 9th 2027 | 09:00 Start
Great Farthingloe Farm, Dover
Dover puts your winter training to the test.
Based around the Great Barn at Great Farthingloe, the course sits in the valley above Dover with views towards the Kent coast and France.
Cold temperatures, unpredictable weather and challenging conditions make January a demanding time to take on a Backyard Ultra.
For those who ran Vigo, Dover is your opportunity to put the lessons learned into practice.
For those joining the series for the first time, your journey starts here.
Saturday, April 10th 2027 | 09:00 Start
Lillyroo's Glamping, Deal
Sholden strips everything back.
The route crosses flat, open marshland with approximately eight metres of ascent per yard. There are no hills to break your rhythm and almost nowhere to shelter from the conditions.
The course is runnable, but that is exactly what makes it so demanding.
You must control your pace, maintain your fuelling and keep moving long after completing another yard has stopped feeling simple.
There is nowhere to hide from the distance, the repetition or your own thoughts.
Mentally and physically, Sholden is a test of fortitude.
Friday, July 16th 2027 | 21:00 Start
Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest
Bedgebury brings everything together.
Climbing, runnable trails, changing terrain, darkness and the mental pressure of repeated yards combine to create the final challenge of Series II.
You will need the strength developed for Vigo, the resilience tested at Dover and the mental fortitude demanded by Sholden.
By the time you arrive at Bedgebury, you will have had months to identify your weaknesses and work on them.
This is where you put that work to the test.
The final challenge of the runner you have become.
Every completed yard counts towards your Series II total.
Across all four events, runners accumulate yards on the official Series II leaderboard, with the highest cumulative male and female totals earning the coveted Black Buckles.
Already competed at Vigo? Your completed yards are already on the leaderboard. The Final Three Series Pass gives you the opportunity to continue building your total.
New to Series II? You can still join the competition, establish your own total and see how far you can progress before the Bedgebury finale.
The leaderboard isn't just for those chasing the Black Buckle.
It's an opportunity to measure your progress, challenge yourself and discover what happens when you keep coming back.
Your Series Pass includes:
Full entry to Dover, Sholden and Bedgebury
Discounted entry through one booking
A secured place at all three remaining events
Exclusive access to our private Series II Passholders WhatsApp group
Discounted coaching through our partner running coaches
Access to training knowledge and experience from previous Series winners
The opportunity to build your cumulative Series II leaderboard total
Direct access to the Race Director through the Passholders group
The Series Pass isn't just about securing three race entries. It's about becoming part of a community committed to improving together.
Our exclusive WhatsApp group brings together Series Pass holders, partner running coaches and previous Kent Backyard Ultra Series winners.
The group is managed by experienced runners and coaches who understand the challenges of Backyard Ultra running.
As a member, you'll be able to:
Connect with other Series Pass runners
Share your training, progress and setbacks
Discuss fuelling, equipment, race strategies and recovery
Ask questions and learn from previous Series winners
Access advice and support between events
Stay motivated throughout your Series II journey
Direct Access to the Race Director
The Hellfire Events Race Director will also be an active member of the group, giving Series Pass holders a direct channel for questions about the events and the challenges ahead.
Together with our partner coaches and previous Series winners, we're committed to supporting your progression throughout the remainder of Series II.
The group is an additional benefit rather than a replacement for individual coaching or official event communications. Essential race information will continue to be sent by email.
Each event follows the official Backyard Ultra format.
Runners must complete a 4.167-mile yard within one hour. The next yard starts exactly one hour later.
Complete your yard in time and you earn the right to start again.
The event continues until only one runner remains and completes a final yard alone.
There is no set finishing distance.
Whether you're aiming for your first ultra, 50 miles, 100km, 100 miles, a personal best or Last One Standing, every completed yard matters.
You don't need to be an elite runner or believe you can win the Black Buckle.
You simply need to want a bigger target than one event and be prepared to challenge yourself.
Find the weakness. Work on it. Return stronger.
Some runners will chase the front of the leaderboard. Others will target a new personal best or simply one more yard than last time.
All of those goals belong in the series.
